the principal attorney and founder of Leones Law Firm

Hello there!

My name is Valerie Consolacion Leones-Ramos. I am the principal attorney and founder of Leones Law Firm, a prestigious, female-owned law firm.

My passion and dedication are focused on the legal fields of employment law, family law, and business law.

I am committed to empowering individuals who are facing adversity within these areas, specifically those who come from Asian-American, Pacific Islander, and minority communities.

At Leones Law Firm, I use my expertise and resources to provide a voice to those who feel overpowered by their employers that prioritize profits over the well-being of their workers or are afraid of ruining family relationships.
As a minority woman raised in a working-class household, I am familiar with the many challenges minority women face, whether it be in the workplace or elsewhere.

I learned the meaning of hard work and survival at a young age. My grandmother was the main caretaker for my brother. My father fell victim to the streets with drug addiction, had countless run-ins with the criminal justice system, and experienced injustices within the criminal justice system because he is a minority man of color. My mother, a minority woman in the nursing industry, was the sole income provider.

At one point, she worked three jobs just to make ends meet and put food on the table. As a devoted and loyal employee working 35 years for her employer, she rarely took any time off because she relied on her income to provide for our family. On one occasion, my mother was involved in a work-related injury where she needed to take time off to recover from her sustained injuries.

However, because she did not know what her rights were as an employee, she was afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation, which she felt would lead to a hostile work environment or fear of losing her job, and felt that she couldn’t afford to hire an attorney, so she instead continued to work.

These are the issues that I am passionate about.
My personal experiences have deepened my passion to pursue a career in advocating for others who are going through similar injustices. It has also made me realize how valuable it is for me to empower those who feel powerless and have no voice.

I intimately understand the struggles of hardworking individuals who deeply care about their jobs, possess strong work ethics, and rely on their jobs to support their families.

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam. I moved to California immediately after I graduated high school to pursue my passion for law.

This bold move was a huge step out of my comfort zone. However, despite the many restraints I’ve faced, I learned a lot about myself and have become independent. I’ve failed many times than I can count, faced many obstacles and setbacks, but I learned how to stay resilient, move forward, and never give up despite all of these failures and obstacles.

These experiences have further fueled my passion for protecting people’s rights and finding solutions to the legal issues that affect them.

In addition to my passion and personal experiences, I was classically trained in the art of litigation at a distinguished private law firm, where I dedicated over a decade of my career.

I’ve also worked at various criminal, family, business, and civil rights firms because, just like my mother, at one point, I had more than one job.
Aside from my legal career, I deeply value having a balanced lifestyle.

Family is truly important to me. I love to spend quality time with my husband and our cute French Bulldog Skrappy (proud fur mom). I also enjoy spending time with my close friends, cooking, working out, and being outdoors.

One of my favorite motivational quotes comes from the wise words of Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change you wish to see in this world.” Representing individuals with similar struggles and hardships that I have experienced enables me to continue down this path of positive change.

I am committed to making a meaningful impact in the areas of legal representation for family relationships, workplace rights, and small businesses.

I believe every person should feel confident to speak up, be heard, and exercise their rights that they are equally entitled to and deserve so they can become confident in bringing out the best versions of themselves. We can do this together. Let’s help each other. And the first step is to find a trusted and loyal attorney who can bring the results. That is what I am here to do. Let’s set great examples and find the courage to fight for our rights!
